cedarstar
can't stop now - keane
BASICS//
Name: cedarstar.
Age: forty-seven moons.
Gender: female.
Clan: canopyclan.
APPEARANCE//
Fur Colour: short-haired mixed brown tabby.
Eye Colour: pale green.
Build: elongated body, long legs, slim.
Overal Description:here’s a pretty face, a very pretty face indeed. cedarclaw looks like a normal brown tabby she-cat, but the coloring on her fur is very unique. it’s a variation of different shades of browns and blacks, and also some caramel colors that blend their way in, to make her fur looks slightly different. her fur is short and coarse, thick to the touch, but very soft. the fur framing the inner parts of her face, like her nose and under her eyes, is even shorter. the female’s whiskers are long and white, evenly emerging from both sides above her mouth. the leader’s nose is framed with a black lining, and the actual color of her nose is a soft pink. the area around both eyes is also framed with black, clearly outlining the two pale green eyes. her face is angled, but not sharply. her features are very pretty, her muzzle short and round.
take a very close look at the she-cat’s face. you’ll see that her ears are narrow and erect, curving gently at the very top. the backs of the ears are a dark, chocolate brown, with flecks of caramel colored fur weaving its way through. the outer edges of her ears are lined with a light brown, and from there, you see think wisps of fur covering the inner ear. cedarclaw’s forehead is mixed with many different shades of brown but three narrow, black stripes form from the crown of her head. they stop just as the bridge of her nose is formed. two thicker stripes border the outside of the bridge of the nose, the right stripe a lighter shade, with more colors than the left stripe.
at the top of the bridge of her nose, the caramel color is seen, shining brightly. it almost looks as if her nose is split in two, the right half just a smidge darker than the left. the fur color bordering both her eyes is a pale tan color, making the pale green seem just a bit glossier than usual. the thick fur on cedarclaw’s cheeks is splashed with many colors, but light brown seems to be the dominant color. you look down to the female’s chin. her chin is covered in an off white color, the fur thick and soft. it winds its way down to the nape of her neck, and stops abruptly, blending in with a darker brown.
the female’s chest is narrow and long. the dominant color of her chest is a medium toned brown, and one line of black stretches itself across the whole of her chest once her neck ends. the left leg of cedarclaw is dotted with many thick black stripes. they wind their way down the whole of her leg, and turn smaller and lighter as they reach her ankle and paw. her left paw is a light version of a chocolate color. it is neatly curved and rounded, and makes it easy for the female to run. the female’s right leg is also covered with stripes, but they begin sliding down about halfway down her leg. the top of cedarclaw’s right paw is a very pretty caramel color, and the color winds its way up the left side a small ways, until it blends into the black stripes.
the back of cedarclaw is very prettily colored. in the sunlight, the colors are really pronounced. it looks as if reds, caramels, blacks, and browns all weave their way intricately through the fur. but, on an overcast day, the black stripes can easily be seen. there are small black stripes that wind their way across the female’s whole back. between each stripe, you can clearly see that small gray hairs are placed neatly in between browns and tans. the stripes grow smaller as the fur nears the base of the tail. the fur around her hip, while lying down, is covered in full gray fur. when she’s standing and sitting, it has the same dark color as the rest of her back.
the she-cat’s tail is neatly striped, the two colors being gray and black. where the tail begins, the color is brown, but the stripes begin to form right away. they grow larger as they move down toward the tip of the tail. the tip of her tail is dominantly black. if you are up close to the tail, you can see that different colors are seen in between the gray hairs. there are tans, browns, and even some blacks, but from afar, the color looks gray.
PERSONALITY//Likes: loyal cats, feeling determined, a full fresh-kill pile.
Dislikes: lazy cats, sickness, too much rain.
Fears: her clan being overtaken, being betrayed by a cat in her clan, heights.
Overal Personality: (50+)cedarstar is a very fair a level-headed cat. she tries her hardest not to play favorites and loves to have everything in line. the female isn’t too over-temperamental, which is good for her as a leader, because she’s learned to keep calm in most situations. she can easily have a conversation with an angry cat, and not catch on to what they’re feeling. just as much, she can happily converse with a sad or happy cat with no problems. whenever something spins out of control, whether it is between cats or something problematic within the clan, she’s always ready to attack the problem with a determined mind. she always tries to make the right decision, even if it hurts her in the process. her clan comes first, and that’s what she has to repeat in her head every morning when she wakes up.
although she’s an older warrior, cedarstar’s very energetic. she tries to put a cap on it, unless its needed, but everyone can tell when she’s especially energetic, because she has a kit-like bounce in her step when she walks around the camp. its times like those, where she loves to be out with a close friend or by herself and just go running, to get all of the pent up energy out. she misses being able to join more patrols than normal, but she still weaves her way into as many as she can, so she can get to know all of the warriors better, even if they were kits together. she’s the kind of cat who could keep going after a few days of not getting sleep. she can run off her energy, and although she can become cranky if she hasn’t run in a while, she’s normally pretty good when she’s over-energized.
most leaders are loyal and devoted to their clan, but cedarstar takes it to another level. she’s almost obsessed about the order of her clan. the she-cat has to be able to get to know each of the warrior, apprentices, and kits on a close level. she likes to develop close relationships with each of them. it’s harder when she loses them, but she feels it helps the clan on a personal basis, because if she watches them, talks to them, and goes out on the territory with them, she can figure out their strengths and weaknesses, and when battle arises, the female knows directly what to tell each cat what to do, instead of just jumping right into the battle. she’s very loyal to her clan, and would be proud to die fighting for her clan. she tries to love each of her clanmates, no matter how they act toward her. she tries her best to make the clan all it can be, so they can strive and be the best.
cedarstar is a leader who welcome and accepts changes in the clan. if something drastic happens, she tries to not go on about it for a long period of time. the leader tries to push past whatever happens, and she accepts the change in a very nonchalant way. she doesn’t make a big deal about changes in the clan, but when they do, she puts on a straight face, and gets through it as nicely as she can. if, starclan forbid, her deputy dies, she knows she needs to focus on choosing the right warrior. she knows that the decision she makes will be the right one for her clan. if she doesn’t know what to do, she looks to starclan. she gets worried sometimes, but she tries her hardest to get through whatever happens. she loves her clan too dearly not to.
if some of cedarstar’s friends had to describe her in a negative way, they would probably each say the same two things. she’s clumsy, and she’s has moments where she becomes completely unfocused, and she zones out. it’s normally around her friends, but the she-cat can be pretty clumsy. she falls over her paws a lot, when she’s not paying attention, and sometimes even runs into things when she is paying attention. she’s a pretty tall cat, and she has a lean and long body, but her long legs only give her an advantage when she’s in battle and running. when she’s walking around, other cats better watch out. depending on how she’s feeling, she’ll look like a kit trying to stand up for the first time. it makes for a good laugh.
OTHER//History:
my kithood was very eventful. i had a mother and a father, and they loved me very much. i had two siblings, pepperkit and speckledkit. my mother was very sick when we were born, and unfortunately, my mother had very little milk. i was always told that because i was the oldest, i was the strongest. i was a pretty spoiled girl, if i do say so myself. my mother was very upset for a large amount of time after both my siblings died. it was off. everyone had siblings to play with, and then there was me. it made me a stronger cat, actually. i am glad for that. i remember play-fighting with anyone i could, and listening to my father as he gave me tips. i, of course, didn’t understand much when i was younger, but as i neared closer to six moons, i started listening more attentively, hoping i would be the best out of every apprentice.
my father was someone that i looked up to. he and my mother were considered both very good warriors. my mother was better at hunting, and my father was the best at fighting. he loved to help me with easier things, like rolls. i remember it being so much fun, and we would laugh, and it was an amazing bonding experience. even my mother would join in sometimes. as much as we had gone through earlier, we were close. i knew my mother wanted me in her sights at all times, but seeing as she was in better health, everything was a lot less stressful. i remember the morning of my apprentice ceremony. my mother was being so overprotective. it makes me laugh when i think about it. she licked me so hard, that i thought my fur was going to fall off. she kept whispering things like, “don’t go off by yourself,” and “make sure you pay attention so you can become the best warrior in the clan.” she was the best that day.
i really liked the name cedarpaw. i loved the thought of being one step closer to being a warrior. my biggest dream was to be the best warrior i could be. my mentor was stern and very fair. she never got upset with me, which i really liked. it helps me be who i am today around the younger cats. i know that getting angry will not get me anywhere. she taught me very quickly when it came to fighting, but hunting was not my strongpoint. we worked longer on my hunting skills than i would have liked, but i became a warrior nonetheless. a few days before my ceremony, my mentor grew really sick. it was leafbare, and everyone suspected that it was greencough. she died the day before my ceremony, and it was pushed back.
not that i cared.
i really was upset about the loss of my mentor. she had taught me so much, and i was very angry that she wasn’t there the day i was given my name, cedarclaw. i was given the name cedarclaw because of my sharp thinking in battle training. i had grown to be close to some of the older warriors, and it made me happy that i actually had friends that i could talk to the night after my vigil. the vigil part of my warriorhood was horrible. it gave me too much time to think about the death of fleetfoot. i still remember the thoughts going through my head. the why’s and the what if’s. i was very glad when the night was over. there was one stressful moment where something rustled somewhere and i was so nervous. i can remember my fur bristling, and it was only another cat coming back from making dirt. ha!
so, i worked hard the day after my vigil. i stayed up, and even joined in on the dawn patrol. i went hunting shortly after, and then i remember completely crashing, and feeling very rested the next morning. i knew that as a young warrior, i was expected to do much, and that’s what i did. i worked extremely hard, and stayed with the older warriors, learning even more from them. i loved being a warrior and when the deputy, mudnose, passed away suddenly, i wasn’t ready to be called up as the new deputy. i was completely shocked, and i was sure that most of the clan was as well. i was a little older than thirty moons, but i was still young compared to mudnose, who had been fifty-seven moons. i worked even harder, and soon got into the routine of sending out patrols and picking up my pace when it came to my duties. when amberstar retired, i was fully ready to become the leader. i had many seasons as practice. i thought i was a great deputy. i had much experience, and i was ready.
Parents: gentlevoice and slicknose.
Siblings: pepperkit. speckledkit.
